Illuminated Pushbutton Switches APEM.jpgProduct Release: APEM Illuminated Push Button Switches

April 28, 2016 - New from APEM, the FD series is the company's latest development in its broad product offering of illuminated push button switches. Designed after a traditional push button, the FD series incorporates superposed filters which react to green and red light, allowing for the display of different legends depending on the illumination color. The new series includes two different legends on a single switch, which can simplify designs that would ordinarily require additional switches or indicators.

The company's pushbuttons offer a combination of high-quality luminosity and durability. The switches are sealed, shock-resistant and built to save space in a design.

December 1, 2015 - Ebm-papst is phasing out their W3G300-RQ series and moving toward the W3G300-BV series.  These series are primarily used in transportation applications.

The W3G300-BV series features the same mounting, footprint, and controls as the W3G300-RQ series with the following differences: Slightly shorter (78.5 mm tall vs 94 mm); Lighter (2 kg vs 2.5 kg); 7 blades vs 5; Better performance over operating range; Higher max ambient temperature (95° C vs 85° C) – applies to W3G300-BV24-01 only.  Both series are currently available, however we recommend the W3G300-BV series as the W3G300-RQ will be obsoleted in the future.

Please consider the suggested replacements for the 5 Blade Legacy Motor to the 7 Blade New Generation Motor:  W3G300-RQ30-43 to W3G300-BV24-01; W3G300-RQ-56 to W3G300-BV25-21; W3G300-RQ28-58 to W3G300-BV25-21; W3G300-RQ28-58 to W3G300-BV25-21

Progressive Image Earns ISO 9001:2008 Certification

NEW BERLIN, WI (April 13, 2015) — Progressive Image Inc. of New Berlin has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification for component distribution and value-added assembly.

The designation is a reward for three years of planning and refinement by Brad Vogl and his team at Progressive Image. Vogl said earning the certification was an important step in the development of the company.

“A lot of people say, you get ISO certification to get business from a certain customer,” he said. “If that would be your only objective, you’re not buying into the whole program. You have to identify that as an important need for your company.”

Progressive worked with the certified ISO trainers at Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership to document its entire distribution and assembly processes. The work eliminates the “tribal culture” of individuals knowing only their job and missing the bigger team of which they’re a part.

“It requires you to be much more organized and efficient, decrease wasted time, increase quality by the staff understanding more of what’s going on, everything from the assemblers to the shipping clerks,” Vogl said.

ISO provides a framework for almost 20,000 voluntary standards of quality, safety and efficiency in nearly every industry. These standards are recognized in 163 countries and help facilitate global trade.

SAI Global certified Progressive’s quality management system for component distribution and value-added assembly on Jan. 7, 2015. The ISO 9001:2008 certification is good for three years.

Based in New Berlin, WI, Progressive Image Inc. provides value-added electro-mechanical assembly and distributes electronic and electrical components for more than 35 manufacturers. Brad Vogl and Sue Ayers founded the company in 1987. Visit them at progressiveimage.com or call 1-800-686.7764.
